I painted this galaxy for my outer-space- loving husband. He has given me an appreciation for all things other-worldly and my love for him is as vast as The Milky Way!
Interstellar
I painted this from the rooftop terrace of the apartment across the street where I was staying on a solo weekend in Rome. It was a glorious day and I spent it on that terrace listening to Italian music, eating delicious bread and zucchini from the nearby café, drinking wine and painting. It was like a dream.
Terrazza Trastevere
This was my very first painting so it will always be special to me! I was introduced to watercolor painting by Beth Slagle, who I admire for many reasons, her talent not least amongst them. She led the class that resulted in this painting and although the watercolor is lacking, I really love this painting! It’s also special to me because my son Rocco and I like to take a “Cabin in the Woods” trip every year.
Cabin in the woods
I painted the Water Dancer together in a private painting lesson with my teacher. I loved the subject, so I recreated it in the Fire colors which I actually prefer.
Water and Fire Dancers
I painted this for my husband’s Valentine (2023). The idea of two hearts colliding in an explosion of light and beauty is how I think of love between two people. This is my visual interpretation.
